Summer 2006, in Panjshir valley Afghanistan, an Afghan miner is drilling to place some explosives. The purpose is to blast the rock in order to get some emeralds. Panjshir valley is known since the end of the 1970's for the quality of its emeralds. More info on: http://www.fieldgemology.org/gemology%20afghanistan%20ruby%20jagdalek%20emerald%20panjshir.php

Sep 21, 2009 - these guys are really tough. bet you they will learn fast. try using a high power water hose to keep those emeralds from being broken. don't know if you can do that, water's scarce there. catchment drain recycling same water through filtration (sand?), pumped to elevated tank using windmill????????????? all the best, guys. God is great!
