The Transformed Art Gallery of Ontario (AGO) is Toronto native Frank Gehrys most recent building, and his first in Canada. Hallmarks of his AGO design include dramatic sculptural staircases, the warmth of Douglas fir, and the extensive use of glass to infuse the galleries with natural light and connect the city and the Gallery in provocative new ways. - courtesty AGO.net This was filmed during the final day of the re-opening weekend to give you a sense of the immense crowds who fought the uncooperative weather to enjoy the new AGO. The lines were far too long for me to get a look inside, but I hope you enjoy this tribute to the function, flow and form of this beautiful addition to the Toronto landscape. Also included in the video is a brief appearance of the Ontario College of Art & Design (OCAD), another wonderful example of leading edge architecture in Toronto, design by British architect Will Alsop. Dec 17, 2008 - I was there a couple of weeks ago and I am going to the AGO tomorrow too. Just an awesome art gallery, I will admit. Take you friends, family, relatives. Just take someone with you so that you can learn from each other when critiquing. Hope you have fun :)
