Mineral oil (also called paraffin oil or liquid petrolatum) that most people use for cooling is crystal clear and doesnt smell while engine oil does.

Besides there is something like mineral engine oil so its not like there are two kinds of oil mineral oil and engine oil. The one that you use in your car is different from the one in a drugstore but they are both made from petroleum and they are both mineral.
