Hey Everyone! DAngelo and michael alan here. We know a lot of people that visit Costa Rica also like to see other places in Latin America- so many visit Nicaragua as well (which we highly recommend). We have video taped the process of crossing the border from Costa Rica to Nicaragua in hopes that it will give you some idea of the process, The border crossing at Penas Blancas can be somewhat confusing and daunting if you don't know what you're doing and there are some things you should know. Feb 18, 2010 - @jesc093073 OUr friends who visited those countries- LOVED them and had no problems. Usually it's the 'bad' that is written about and perceptions are formed that a country is 'good' or 'bad', but of course traveling anywhere you gotta be ALERT and AWARE....... I'd go if I were you, but that's me. Do your homework.....thanx for the comments.

Feb 21, 2010 - i recommend you not change all your money in cordobas, because for example in san juan del sur most of the prices are in dollar and in granada to , so it's good to change a lit of bit for the taxi and buses and for the kids asking for tip.
