NoEamInSL stands for 'No Eelam in Sri Lanka'. NoEalamInSL is a pseudonym used by an individual.Eelam is a name given for a separate state for Tamil speaking Sri Lankans by LTTE separatist terrorists. Sri Lanka is the motherland of all Sri Lankans. Therefore all Sri Lankans (as any other citizen of the world) have an obligation to protect dignity, territorial integrity and sovereignty of Sri Lanka. The end of Eelam war should bring peace, freedom, democracy and respect for human rights. Then only true freedom can be achieved. Sri Lankans: Sinhalese, Tamils, and Muslims lived in harmony for centuries and all ethnic groups are living in mixed communities. Therefore, I reject the ideology of LTTE separatist terrorists for a independent Tamil Eelam state in Sri Lanka. I admire political leadership of President Mahinda Rajapaksa for eliminating terrorism in Sri Lanka. I admire military leadership of Gotabaya Rajapaksa and General Sarath Fonseka for combating ruthless LTTE terrorism effectively. The ideology of LTTE of a "Tamil Eelam State". is demarcated in North and East of Sri Lanka and later to be extended further to Central Hill country(Central Prov) and call it "Malayanadu". I strongly support a multi- lingual, multi-ethnic society live in harmony. Eelam doesnt provide any solution to so called aspirations of Tamil people. Ethnic Groups in Sri Lanka: Sinhalese: 73.8% Sri Lankan Moors 7.2% Indian Tamil 4.6% Sri Lankan Tamil 3.9% other 0.5% unspecified + Veddas=10% (2001 census provisional data) Sinhala (official language) 74% Tamil (official language) 18% Note: English is commonly used in government and is spoken competently by about 10% of the population Total surface: 65,610 sq km Land: 64,740 sq km Water: 870 sq km Coastline:1,340 km Total population: 21,324,791 Source: CIA FACT SHEET Tamil Elam Facts (roughly): -The Surface of Tamil Elam is around +40,000 sqkm. -The coastal area of Elam is 2/3 of total coastal area of Sri Lanka. -Tamil population is 8% of 21 million total population. -Actual Tamil population in North-East is 600,000 rest 500,000 Tamils live in south with Sinhalese people -There are 200,000 Sinhalese 600,000 Muslims in North- East of Sri Lanka. -LTTE genocide 20,000 Sinhalese and 10,000 Muslims in North-East of Sri Lanka to form a pure Tamil Elam state. The motivations of a pure Tamil Elam State in NE-Sri Lanka are: ------------- -Tamils in Sri Lanka are discriminated and oppressed. -Tamils are treated as second class citizens; this is a inferior feeling coming from ages during slavery. Just like white people are superior. It is between ears and dividing country wont solve that. -Tamils feel they dont have equal rights as Sinhalese -Tamils dont have equal opportunities -Tamil language is not the main language in Sri Lanka (Tamil became also an official language since 1987) Facts of Tamil Tigers: ------------- -Tamil Tigers are terrorists because they massacred Sinhalese, Tamils, Muslims in Sr Lanka -Tamil Tigers are Cannibals, they kill their own Tamil people, promote carnage, has no mercy what so ever even the defeat is obvious. -Sinhalese are very concerned about Tamil people as they are fellow Srilankans -Tamil Tigers who claim to be the only representative of Tamils use as human shields to survive. -Tamil Diaspora is supporting Tamil Tigers to form a pure Tamil, Tamil Elam State in Sri Lanka killing thousands of Sri Lankans My questions are: ----------------------- -Who makes genocide in Sri Lanka? -Are causes of Tamil liberation struggle fair to other ethnic groups? -Is it a fair proportion of land asking for Elam state (about 40% of total land for 8% of Tamils)? - Does Elam support multi-lingual, multi-ethnic society and will Sinhalese not discriminated in Elam?
