Vietnam fought the French, the Chinese and the Americans but Vietnam, a determined South Asian country, Vietnam, is at last independent. This TVP was contributed by Vanessa Velez. The Vietnamese are a resilient people In spite of their suffering, They're also very friendly and warm, and full of national pride In Vietnam the old and the new live comfortably side by side Hanoi is elegantly French with beautiful tree-lined boulevards and classic architecture. The old quarters beckon...the antiquated mazes of streets, filled with shops, outdoor restaurants and cafes, captivate. Ho chi min city is vibrant and modern, bustling with street life. Authentic markets, chic bars, and stylish young women wearing long gloves (are visual) delights Crossing the streets in Ho chi min city is an adventure. the traffic literally, never stops. But don't panic. Cross slowly, steadily, and somehow the traffic gos around you.

Aug 10, 2008 - and my uncle LIVES in vietnam. the rest of my family living there either farms or work in factories and in factories they only make $2/hour. people are protesting over there right now for higher wages and it still hasnt gone up. You dont hear about this in the media b/c the media doesn't care about VN unless a HUGE disaster happens like a tsunami. The only truthful fact i heard in this video was about how we vietnamese are resilient and friendly and proud of our nationality. THAT IS TRUE.

travelvideo Says:

Aug 10, 2008 - We hear you and are sorry. I think you'd have to agree that the country is much more open, more free and very much more visited by tourists from around the world than ever before. Is it completely "free"? Is the US? Don't think so. Is it more free. Yes, we believe so! Thanks for writing and watch our other TVPs. TVP

Jan 10, 2009 - Never listen to the Vietnamese Communist( VC) propaganda, instead you want to die in this country where the power is absolutely in the bloody hands of COMMUNISTS! I have a lot experience about bastard police of VC!If you don't believe me, let go there to learn the lessons! Boring!

Mar 29, 2009 - Vietnamese Communist Party has worked for itself , not for the Vietnamese People, It has brought the country back to few hundred years ago and turned the country down

travelvideo Says:

Mar 29, 2009 - Interesting point, but the country is more prosperous, many more tourists, etc. Thanks for writing and watch our other TVPs

dakarateboi Says:

Aug 12, 2009 - You are barely expressed the nature of wild animal Vietnamese Communist now! You see that?

TOMP66666 Says:

Aug 18, 2009 - Prosperity only exists in big cities in Vietnam like Hanoi and Saigon, but 80% of Vietnamese population live in poor, underdeveloped rural areas. While corrupt communist leaders like Prime minister Nguyen tan Dung and President Nguyen minh Triet are multi-billionaires, a regular Vietnamese earns only $1 per day. More than 200,000 Vietnamese women from poor families, many as young as ten, are working as prostitutes and sex slaves in China, Cambodia, Thailand, Malaysia, Macau, Taiwan, and Korea.

TOMP66666 Says:

Aug 24, 2009 - Ho chi Minh, Vietnam's communist leader, is a disguting TRAITOR & MURDERER! In exchange for chinese military aids in the war with France (1945-1954), he gave up Paracel & Spratly archipelagos which are very rich in oil resources to China. He even ordered to murder his own mistress named Nong thi Xuan when she threatened to disclose her sexual relationship with him since that would destroy his image as a Father of Vietnam who lives as a god and sacrifices his whole life for Vietnam revolution.

travelvideo Says:

Aug 24, 2009 - Very interesting! Thanks for writing!

TOMP66666 Says:

Sep 2, 2009 - After the Soviet Union's collapse in 1991, the communist authority in Vietnam switched to its big brother Red China, a new leader of a few remaining communist nations including China, North Korea, Vietnam, Laos, and Cuba, for China's backup to remain in power in Vietnam. There are ten divisions of more than 100,000 Chinese troops disguised as mine workers in the central highlands, who will repeat another Tiananmen Square massacre in case Vietnamese revolt against the communist regime.

dakarateboi Says:

Nov 22, 2009 - The day the Communist Regime still controls the Vietnamese land, is the day that the Vietnamese would still be worsened by stupid Commies ! * Don't you believe in this idea? Let go and visit Vietnam to understand the real things that happen in VN, begin at the TAN SON NHAT international airport...and so on..! Will see!..............boring!

Feb 8, 2010 - I'm going back to Vietnam this year. It has its beautiful places, I agree. But don't be fooled, it is still behind many years and I'm not gonna even mention its infrastructure. It's a very slow progress for the common people, a fast one for the rich ones..only.
